The Stone Bank Fire Department provides fire, EMS, and rescue services to one of the largest response areas in Waukesha County. We cover areas of the Towns of Oconomowoc and Merton with fire department, EMS, and rescue coverage. We also cover portions of the town of Ashippun with EMS coverage.
In addition to over 55 square miles of land area, we provide coverage on the nine lakes (in conjunction with the Okauchee Fire Department Dive Team for Okauchee Lake) which total over 1737 acres of water area. Also in our response area is Nashotah Park, a 444-acre Waukesha County park, with ponds, hiking and cross-country ski trails, a dog park, picnic shelters, and activity fields.
Our department has members that respond throughout the area as part of the Waukesha County Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC). The RIC Team responds to major incidents with specialized equipment and training to monitor and maintain firefighter and first responder safety.
We are called upon by neighboring departments as part of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) which provides automatic mutual aid and escalation for additional equipment and personnel for major incidents.
